Abstract

Am 25.05.2007 hat der Senat der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz die Einrichtung des im April 2007 akkreditierten Bachelor- und Masterstudienganges of Science (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Wirtschaftspädagogik zum Wintersemester 2007/08 beschlossen. Der Bachelor of Science in „Wirtschaftspädagogik“ wird zum Wintersemester 2007/08 am Fachbereich Rechts- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften eingeführt; der darauf aufbauende Masterstudiengang (Master of Science in Wirtschaftspädagogik) soll zum Wintersemester 2009/10 eingerichtet werden. Der wirtschaftswissenschaftliche und der wirtschaftspädagogische Bachelor gehören zu den ersten großen Studiengängen an der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, die nach dem Bologna Modell umgestellt werden.

Die Konzeption des Bachelor- und Masterstudiengangs of Science in „Wirtschaftspädagogik“ wurde auf der Basis einer systematischen Analyse des Ist-Zustandes und der Entwicklungstrends sowie der einschlägigen ordnungspolitischen Dokumente erarbeitet. Herangezogen wurden insbesondere die Empfehlungen sowie bereits entwickelten Studiengangsmodelle aus den anderen Bundesländern, die Beschlüsse der KMK (v. a. zu den curricularen Standards der Bildungswissenschaften, zur Einrichtung von Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen, zur Akkreditierung, zu den Lehramtsstudiengängen, also die sog. Quedlinburger Beschlüsse), die Eckwerte des Verbandes für Lehrer an Wirtschaftsschulen für die Ausbildung in Bachelor- und Masterstrukturen, das rheinland-pfälzische Reformkonzept für die Lehramtsstudiengänge, und auch Ergebnisse einer einschlägigen Befragung der Sektion für Berufs- und Wirtschaftspädagogik in der DGfE.

The BA and MSc degrees in vocational education and business studies at the University of Mainz

On the 25th May 2007 the senate of the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz decided on the introduction of the BA and MSc courses in vocational education and business studies for the 2007/08 winter semester. They had been accredited in April 2007. The Bachelor of Science in vocational education and business studies will be introduced in the fields of Law and Economics, and the Master of Science in vocational education and business studies, which builds upon that course, will be introduced in the winter semester of 2009/10. The BAs in economics and vocational education are among the first major degree courses at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz to be redeveloped according to the Bologna model.

The concept of the BA and MSC courses in vocational education and business studies were developed on the basis of a systematic analysis of the status quo and of the current trends, as well as of the relevant political and administrative documents. This involved in particular the recommendations as well as the course models which had already been developed in other federal states, the decisions of the KMK [(standing conference of education ministers), especially with regard to the curricular standards in educational studies, the introduction of BA and MA courses, accreditation and courses in teacher training, that is to say the so-called Quedlingburg Decisions)], the standards of the association of teachers at economic schools for training in BA and MA structures, the Rheinland-Palatinate concept for reform of teacher training courses, and also the results of a relevant survey by the section for vocational education and business studies and the pedagogy of vocational training in the German Society of Educational Studies.
